Bought this as a nutritionist said something about Metabolic balance so decided to buy it. It was the best thing I have done and gave me so much information about why I wasn't losing weight no matter what I ate or how much I exercised. I can honestly say it has changed my life as I have lost 1stone 2lbs in 6 weeks. Being an American author I was not used to some of the food names but managed my way around the few things that are not easily available in the UK. A good recipe section at the end of the book and really like some of them so it was all good for me. Definitely recommend it if you find you cant lose weight.

I was having problems with menopause and had gained weight around my middle overnight!! After using this book for 2 weeks I have notied quite a difference and am very pleased.

I followed this loosely for a week before my holiday (3rd day I ate 3 big chunks of toblerone because it melted in my bag.....I had to right?lol) I still lost one and a half kilos. It is a great diet, but I'd advise you to have everything to hand.
Day 1 and 2 (phase 1). Grains, protein and veg and fruit
Day 3 and 4 (phase 2). Protein and veg.
Day 5 and 6 (phase 3) grains, fats, protein, veg and fruit.
The book is very informative about how your body works to get the metabolism working again. My friend who is a larger lady (size 18-20) tried this way of eating and was losing 5 pound or more a week and was actually eating more than she did before. People assume that just because you are bigger you eat more - wrong. By not eatung enough your body goes into store the fat mode and so by eating 5 times a day (the food allowed in each phase) your bodies metabolism burns and melts away the fat stored. Her metabolism had obviously practically stopped working and now working great for her. She hardly scraped by on 1000 calories a day but just ate the wrong things and mainly in the evening, so she said this has helped her get back on track. I'd recommend this book and this diet as you can eat like this forever (phase 2 isn't something I could stick with, I need and love my carbs) or you could use the plan to get you started to lose that stubborn belly fat as I did and so dip in and out using the concept of eating 5 times a day, starting within 30 mins of waking. There is lots of info on the internet too, so you can just Google phase 1, 2 or three foods allowed and it's all there for you if you don't want to wade all through the book. Haylie Pomroy really makes the book a good read though and I read it all and highlighted the bits I wanted to remember. Just try it, you wont be disappointed.

I have tried countless diets over the years and this one has finally done the trick. I very rarely write reviews but felt I needed to talk about this diet. I lost 10 pounds over the 28 days, but didn't have loads to lose, so was happy with this. There are 3 phases to the diet over a 7 day period - this was great for me as I didn't become bored with eating the same each day, I enjoyed moving from one phase to the next. You will need to enjoy vegetables, salads and fruit for this diet to work well for you. I stuck rigidly to the diet for 28 days - you eat 3 meals a day, plus snacks, which seems like a lot of food to start with - I lost most weight on phase 2 of the diet and maintained that weight loss for the rest of the week. It has changed my relationship with food and gave me permission to eat a lot throughout the week, yet still lose weight. I think this may be the healthiest weight loss programme I have followed, as I eat from a large range of food groups, with the emphasis on fruit and veg, good quality protein, and healthy fats. I have continued to eat in phases since finishing the 28 days. I have lost a further 5 pounds and have 4 more pounds to lose. I think I could easily continue eating this way as I don't feel like I am on a diet now.

There is a bit of meal preparation to be done, but I prepared in batches and froze meals, which really helped stay on track. The recipes are not great - but I took the principals of each phase and adapted them to make meals I enjoyed. As long as you stick to the foods you are allowed in each phase - you can't go far wrong with the diet. I first bought the book on kindle but it is very hard to read the charts, which are tiny, so bought the book instead.

Excellent diet. Lost 1 stone in 28 days. Started my second round of 28 days today. Would recommend it to any one who wants to lose weight and repair their metabolism.

So far about 12 pounds lost and I am on week 4. Not the promised 20 but I did 'sin' enough to justify lesser weight loss.
Relatively well written although I did not appreciate the horse comparison and found the mechanics of metabolism rather boring but some people might enjoy that bit. I would recommend the book and the diet.

Although the book says that diets don’t work this one proposes changes. I have not tried. Difficult when you are not alone!

Very extrem with so many never-heard-of grosseries. And as a chapter in book - people redo this in many cycles so you can just as well do tabloid kind of diets.
